This story I'm about to share is about a girl who was at a point of making a decision of life and death, but somehow, just at the gallows, hope showed up
She's a friend of mine, tall , and beautiful. We met in 2017 in a conference held in her school. On that day, I noticed she was reserved, and she rarely spoke to anyone. We never became friends until after my graduation and that's when I knew her Story.
She was 12 when she lost her mum and her dad got missing when she was 18. She was the second child in the family of 3, two brothers and she was the only girl among them. Their relatives abandoned them with no support, leaving them to feed for themselves. She had dreams of becoming a pharmacist but the situations around her became tough, they could barely feed, talk less of affording tuition fees. Different thoughts started to creep in her mind when she had no choice but to drop out from school, there was no one to support her and her brothers weren't financially buoyant. she was beautiful, she knew men would want her if she became a harlot and she started to consider that thought.
She felt becoming a harlot would do her no harm since she had no feelings for men. When she was set to do it, she started to struggle with her conscience. She had earlier programmed her life and becoming a slut wasn't part of it. She cried for days and continually she prayed to God for guidance. They managed from the little her brother worked, whenever she sought help, men always demanded something in return, but her conscience wouldn't allow her to give in. She specifically told me it was the principles she set that helped her withstand some of the pressures.
She dropped out from school and felt hopeless and thats where the thought of commiting suicide visited her. She held the bottle of poison with a shaky hand in-between decisions but the thought of the pain she'll cost her family stopped her. When the school realized what had happened to the family, they called her back and placed her on a scholarship. She graduated still on scholarship and decided to work for the school after her graduation and is still working there and another organization. Prayers and the few principles she set was what helped her from giving in to the depression. Even though she isn't living her dream life now, she's managing better with her brothers who are working with little wages.
