Different people, different perspectives when issues about liberty are discussed. Some people have the philosophy that freedom is earned and not given, by this they infer war, more like was practiced in the 1800s, but a lot has changed where all power is bestowed on some group called the government to make decisions over the affair of the citizens. It is believed that slavery does not necessarily mean bind with chains on our feet and neck but the restrictions to do or say certain things even if they're within moral. The world is tired, tired of the oppressions by politicians, governments, and people in power thus yearning for freedom from injustice, oppression, dictatorship, and authoritarianism. The question remains, how could you and I build liberty in this cruel world?
A scheme called NYSC(Nigeria Youth service corps) was introduced in my country Nigeria for graduate in the country, it aimed to foster unity among tribes by deploying student among different cultures to learn of their ways, this in future will help citizens understand why certain people practice certain things thereby making laws that focus on moral than the practice of people. I believe the best way to build liberty is to promote love and unity and this can be achieved if we give less relevance to our nationality and tribe. Every form we fill today has a column for nationality and ethnic group, people may argue that it's for identification but that's where disunity, favoritism, and dictatorship start.
The core reason why politicians and governments infringe our freedom is the level of autonomy they possess. If this autonomy was restricted, citizens would be able to do certain things without being afraid of the consequences of people at the top. This can only be achieved through a revolt demanding the adjustment of the current constitution. It may not come as easily as imagined but as long as we remain steadfast it will be achieved.
Finally, liberty can be achieved if people who are libertarian are voted into power. They've always wanted equality among citizens, their thought and actions are targeted at ensuring people live by doing what they desire as long as it's moral. Imagine if they're elected into power, their actions will mostly be to build a world where everyone has some autonomy to make decisions and be listened to and a world where freedom is the motto. Libertarian in power is equal to freedom for the masses.
