I think you are correct. Yet I think it is distracting from more than that.
Right now the globalist who want one world rule by them. An unelected oligarchy are making their big push. This is coming at us from multiple directions. The COVID one is definitely one of them. Yet that one is so nefarious it can cause us to get tunnel vision and miss some of their other moves.

Pushing us into power systems that cannot support our needs and actually are pretty harmful to produce batteries required for.

Telling farmers not to farm while warning of a pending famine.

There is a lot of artificial push to make things worse and worse for everyone but the elite at the top.

Call them multinationals as they all own land in many countries so are they truly beholden to any nation or can they scurry to whatever property best suits their needs in a given situation?

I see it as Hegelian Dialectic. They are creating the problem(s) that are so bad for people that when they come later and say they have a solution that can solve the problem people who are desperate due to the problems these people created will accept almost anything.
