The truth of the matter is there are many different front ends to hive. They are generally tied to communities. There are also some that are more tied to phone apps...

Most of the community ones look like hives and just are focused on a specific community.

There are others I don't have experience with and just see people talking about occasionally.

They are all frontends for HIVE they just often focus on specific communities.

I see people talk about ecency.com a lot but I haven't really used it. For all I know it could be cooler than peakd.com. I really like my night mode so peakd is my preferred front end. I do visit proof of brains, and Vybranium occasionally when I want to see just those communities.

Though ecency has day/night mode too so I may end up giving it a closer look.
