Yep. I don't downvote with the button. If I want to downvote something I use words in a reply. Most of the time I don't bother. If I don't like something I ignore it. :)

When it comes to downvotes for me it usually seems to be bots that might attach to me.

I am not up voting myself due to worrying about the amount I make. It is more me basically saying "Okay, if you're going to down vote me for no reason then I'll up vote myself".

Fortunately it is a rare thing but it did happen twice this week so I thought I'd write about it.

I don't care if other people up vote themselves. I could make a big deal about that then all they'd need to do is spin up another account and upvote that one.
