No money is enough

Today is Independence Day in Nigeria, so I wake up very late because it's a holiday here in Nigeria, and I want to use it wisely. I know I'll be doing fewer activities today, and got to the gym late also. All I've been doing today was just lying down and engaging on hive.

After reading a post on Hive talking about How much money can we say is enough to be financially free? If you had asked me this question a few years ago, I would probably have an exact amount in mind but the older I get the more I realize that even if I call all the money in the world after acquiring that amount of money, I will still seek to have more money and it is not selfishness or greediness that is just the way we are created.

It is funny if we look at the life of one of the richest people on Earth, Elon Musk. If this guy loses 99% of his money, he will still be richer than an average American but is still seeking to have more money every day. This is a perfect example of why they say no money will be enough for the rich, and I agree.

Many people here will argue that you can know the exact amount that will set you up for life, which means you know the money that will be enough. However, it is a lie because the Bible even says that the human soul can never be satisfied, which means that the more you acquire, the more you seek. Currently, we are in a world that makes it impossible to always be satisfied.

I believe if you were talking about this topic 100 years ago, it would not have been easy then even though we have fewer things that money can buy, it will still be hard but I believe we will have people then who can still be satisfied because there isn't a lot of options then. It is different now because there are a lot of options in almost everything we like And the system is designed in a way where you must spend every day by releasing new things in the market.

You can agree that not everybody seeks new things or feels like buying new stuff in the market. We have those people who are wildly into very scarce things, rare objects, and ancient materials, and all these stuff are even more expensive. We are in a world where anything you care about now can be costly, and because of technology, things you love keep getting better every day, which makes it difficult for us to be satisfied.

I know a way

One of the ways we can be satisfied is by seeking minimum things. We should never look above the minimum. In that way, we can be satisfied. but immediately we set our goals higher to seek something different, maybe having all the money in the world, this puts pressure on us to seek power and influence, and we will need more money to maintain the power.

Most people that I know have this standard of the minimum are those people who are spiritual and believe in one thing or the other, or they are followers of gods But apart from that, when people seek money, they will keep seeking it. Even after having all the money in the world, you start seeking power and influence, and you will need a lot of money to manage the power and influence, and that is why it is tough for us to be satisfied.

You can only be satisfied if you see the world from another perspective, which is not from a money perspective, and that perspective is believing in God because he is the only one that satisfies our soul. Share your thought in the comments.
