Nigeria is a blessed country, and there was a time when one Naira equals $1.00. Even though there was a time when the Naira was more valuable than the dollar, but during all these times when naira was more valuable than the dollar things have always been tough for us but we cannot deny that things were not as tough as it is now, but the truth is that Nigeria has always known hardship, even when the economy was at its best. Citizens of Nigeria have always complained about this government, things have not always been easy for us, and we should always remember that.
We must always remember we have been recycling the same set of people over the last 40 years into power. This set of people has devalued Naira to the present state. These result from them trying to borrow money, so they have to devalue the naira before they can borrow money, which has not been helpful. We now owe millions of debt in the country, and it's getting worse every day, simply because this set of people only care about themselves, and anytime they want to implement anything in the country, it has to be something that will either favor them all favored their family, they don't care about the masses.
Things have always been hard in the country and with the look of things it is only going to get worse.
The Nigerian government has successfully managed to control the poverty rate in the country over the years. This is because they understand that a strong economy and financial stability lead to freedom. However, extreme poverty can make it easy for bad actors to win elections by using money to buy votes. This is why it is difficult to remove these bad actors from power because people are motivated to vote for two reasons, money or love for the candidate. Additionally, some people vote for candidates based on tribalism rather than for the good of the country's future.
This is why implementing positive changes in Nigeria often only benefits the ruling families, rather than the masses. The government does not prioritize the freedom of expression for the people. Instead, they want the masses to suffer and remain in hardship so that they can maintain their power. Even during times of economic prosperity, Nigeria has struggled due to the prevalence of nepotism and the fact that many high-ranking positions are held by the children and families of those in power.
The hardships will live on until we embrace change
Nigeria has always known hardship, and we can only change this if we don't unite as one in this country. It will only get worse from here because no matter how hard the country is during the election there will still be some who will vote for those who give them money. There will still be some people who will vote based on tribalism, and there will still be some people who will vote based on likeness. But if you can put all this aside and vote for the country's future, that is where we can see real change. if we don't embrace unity and we keep recycling the same set of people, we will keep getting the same results.
