Choosing people to work with can be something that brings a lot of headaches because you don’t the intention of the person you want to run a business with. Some people are working with you, not because of the present gain but because they are looking for means to dupe you or run away with your money. Some people are just there to know everything about your business so that can go and recreate it elsewhere.
I’m not saying that creating competition is a bad idea and even sometimes it makes us better but why try to form some sort of partnership with the person in the first place just to steal their idea? I have heard a lot of stories here in Nigeria about how some companies will install a guy in another company just to know how everything works, how they make their ingredient, and their marketing strategy.
Fear
Most companies have secrets and the thing that makes their products so unique is being shared among people they trust In real life but who can we trust? I was trying to run a business with my uncle this year and he spoil the money for me by spending more than 50% of the total money which makes me so confused and my mum warned me in the first place not to work with him. So it doesn’t matter whether the person you are about to work with is family or not but finding a good business partner it is a work on its own in Africa because most people come with different intentions.
The mistakes I did with my uncle cost me because I did not bother to hold back and watch him, trying to know if what my mum said was right, in my mind I was trying to help both of us but he makes realize that business is business and there is always a way to approach things to be it family or strangers.
Be careful.
This also happens in crypto too, the likes of luna and Ftx are perfect examples in crypto because those that invest in such projects will think they are saved, that found good business partners not knowing that the owners of these two projects are nothing but there and a loser. I know what will happen will happen and being careful might not be enough but will go a long way. We must do proper research about those we want to trust our hard earn money and never forget to always take things easy because time will reveal the truth whether to stay or to move on.
