The climb doesn't always lead to success, but it certainly led me to a beautiful view
I thought for a few seconds, before I started walking up the wooden stairs from the old fortress in Petrovac, to what kind of view it would lead me to, but as I heard that in that part of the coast there is a well-maintained path that connects Petrovac with Perazi膰a Do beach, I knew that if the view wasn't interesting, at least the walk would be interesting.
And I was wrong, and the view and the walk and the smell of the pine forest and the smell of salty water in the air...
I had it all in one place - on the path to Perazica Do beach.
In those days, I woke up very early and started my day with a walk - visiting a small seaside town, visiting some viewpoints or one of the nearby beaches.
This morning my goal was the path.
The climb up the wooden stairs was not too strenuous. Nicely arranged, stable, with a fence of wooden posts with ropes, they seemed easy to conquer even for someone less capable than me.
And the view of the fort, at the top of them, when I went down to the footpath, was more than enough reward for the minor effort I made while walking out of them.
When I got out onto the path, I found myself on a flat part of it, more than three meters wide, paved, with lighting (which I didn't need in the morning), and benches next to the path, where you can take a break and enjoy the view.
There were also a few hidden gems along the way, reached by narrow and steep stairs. I dared to crawl down them, although without adequate shoes and without a fence on the steps, very carefully, but I did not reach the very end of them, because two young people had already settled in that place, so I did not want to disturb their peace, intimacy and love 馃槃
With each step, meter by meter, I got closer to the part of the path where the tunnels begin. I had no idea what those tunnels looked like, but as I had read that people use them while walking, I wasn't overly concerned. When others can do it, so can I 馃檪
When I reached the entrance to the tunnel, I stopped by an information board that offered an introduction to the living world of Katich, a small island across from Petrovac.
Looking at the board and the information, I didn't miss the stickers pasted on the pole of the board.
I also added our #worldmappin sticker.
Passing through the tunnels was not demanding, and the only thing that made me uncomfortable was that there were no people on the path and through the tunnels.
I ran into a couple of early risers out walking or jogging.
And the fact that there were no crowds made walking along this path a great experience for me, because I could stop at any time and enjoy the view, without anyone disturbing it, I could take photos or simply sit on one of the benches along the path and enjoy the silence and the sound of the sea.
Tunnel by tunnel, one by one, as if through some sort of labyrinth, I passed by openings that looked out to sea.
I also came across a beautiful wild beach, located between two rocks...
How many of these tunnels are there on the trail, I thought, because the return was also waiting for me, but I kept going, until one moment I came out of the last one, just under a high rock.
And in the distance I saw something that could be Perazica Do beach, however, as I was wearing slippers, I could not and did not want to walk over the sharp stones, so I left the tour of that beach for another time, and now I returned to Petrovac, repeating the scenes I saw while walking this way.
The sun slowly began to illuminate the surroundings and that was my signal: "Go back, breakfast awaits you at the hotel and after that, some new adventure".
Until then, I leave you with these beautiful photos and my story about the path by the sea.
