I agree that I think it is best just to focus specifically on the tournament formats your deck is best designed for. So I would say that unless there is a strong payout, just to spend your time on the events that you can do the best at. For me, that means Champion events for DuceCrypto, Silver events for TreyCrypto, and some Gold events for Shaelien.

I also accept that I won't be as competitive as the top players because I don't actively rent for any of these events and just rely on the cards I have. Therefore, I won't have access to some of the most expensive and important cards which makes it tougher to place near the top of the standings. But like you said, there is still plenty of profits to be made just by making it to day two and some profits are better than nothing.

What I really need to be better at is setting the proper alarms in my schedule, because lately, and especially while on holiday, I have been getting way too many 0-11 records by forgetting to submit lineups. Ouch!
