Welcome back Splinterlands battlemages to another edition of "For Guild & Glory," my brawl report series covering all the action from my three accounts: @ducecrypto in Tier 4 with
@shield-of-glory from the Kingdom of Glory [KoG] alliance,
@treycrypto in Tier 3 with the
@yggspl-official alliance YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir) and
@shaelien in Tier 3 with the always lively
@the420syndicate. You can see my last report for Brawl #143 here.
Well, it seems some of the other guilds in Tier 4 didn't quite agree with my assertion that Shield of Glory is the best of the rest in our current Tier. After winning cycle #143 comfortably, we took a bit of a step back finishing as runners-up to [RKO] Outta Nowhere by 11 wins. That certainly caught us off guard! Nonetheless, we still made out with 164 crowns, 9371 merits, and nearly 182 SPS for 2nd place.
We were led by five brawlers with one-loss records: @kingsclown,
@nizzyz,
@champion-slayer,
@azircon, and
@vugtis. However, we also had one brawler fail to submit their battles, which contributed to the large gap at the top of the standings, although even a clean sweep would not have been enough for us to finish in first.
I improved a bit defending Fray 18 - Modern Gold Foil Silver League compared to the past few weeks, tallying a 6-2 record overall. I was able to take down the win against @xwaakaa from the 1st-placed guild by using Cornealus + Ilthain in the all-ranged attack ruleset. I was not so lucky against the
@marketinggeek in our all-magic attack battle, as their plan to use the blast from scavo technomancer and riverboat captain trumped my Void Dragon tank.
YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir) continued its winning streak in Tier 3, extending it to seven brawls, and I've been here now for the past four victories. In Brawl #144, we finished 16 wins ahead of Gladiators in 2nd place. As victors in Tier 3, we earned 119 crowns, 6611 merits, and 63 SPS.
We had quite a few players come through with clean sweeps in their frays. One can see the impressive undefeated performances from @andrewyaplah,
@lilreaper and
@eldon1 just to name a few. Overall, I was pleased with my 5-2 record defending Fray 16 - Modern Gold Foil Silver League, but I'm still on the hunt for my first sweep as a YGG Brawler.
One of my two losses came in a very tight battle against @xahos in an extra gladiator ruleset. Unfortunately, this is a newer account that does not have a lot of Gold Foil gladiators to choose from, while my opponent strategically used two gladiators, including a heavily bloodlusted Relenor Cleaver, to take down the battle. On the other hand, I was able to claim victory in the all-magic battle against
@imp0ster and the always-dangerous Captain Katie, by using an unlikely hero - Insidious Warlock.
While The 420 Syndicate didn't quite finish in the top half of its group, we at least placed in the Top 6 so we showed up in the first page of the standings. The overall record was still below a 50% win rate, but as a guild, we are moving forward together! For 6th place, we earned 40 crowns, 1778 merits, and 31 SPS.
Our outstanding brawlers for this cycle were @jymydan and
@squirrelacus, who both finished with only two losses. My account Shaelien continues to swim against the tide, defending Fray 13 - Modern Diamond League with just a gold league collection. Ultimately, it makes the upsets sweeter, and I was able to pull off a pair of wins from seven attempts. I was able to vanquish the affable streamer and developer
@axlertwinblade using a double taunt strategy in the opportunity battle. My other victory came against
@ingi1976 and their Jacek team, as my big, beefy, flying healers - Uriel and Agor Longtail - were able to dodge and outlast many of my opponent's attacks.
The gladius cases this cycle were another mixed bag. Of the five cases that Duce opened, only one card was Gold Foil. Thankfully, it was a Chimney Wallstop which allowed me to combine it to Level 5. Trey found a legend in his three cases, but nothing in Gold Foil. Shaelien was just lucky to open a case this week, and scored two rares from the five cards.

Yeah, OK, I know that as I post this brawl report, the most recent cycle has already finished. I got a little backed up this week, but hopefully, I should be back in rhythm to post Brawl Report #145 on time this Wednesday.
DuceCrypto and Shield of Glory will fight to reclaim first place in Tier 4. Shaelien and The 420 Syndicate will try to finish in the top half of its group in Tier 3. And for TreyCrypto, a new challenge beckons!
See, I was a little tardy in signing up for a fray this past cycle and was replaced in my preferred Fray 16. In fact, by the time I was able to claim a fray, there was nothing available in my guild that fit my collection. Luckily, instead of sitting out, I was able to go to another guild in the YGG Brawler alliance and contribute to the cause. Therefore in Brawl #145, I will be brawling with Tier 2 YGG Brawlers (Álfheim) in my preferred Fray 16 - Modern Gold Foil Silver League. I think the YGG Brawler alliance has a great system in place to allow its active members to participate in lower-tiered guilds when fray rotation is needed!
That's a wrap on Brawl Report #144. If you enjoyed the read, let me know in the comments and drop a vote if you're so inclined. I'm going to be working hard to stay on schedule and put out Splinterlands content every day this week, so if there is something you'd like to see me cover, let me know.
See you in the Splinterlands!
