Welcome back Splinterlands battlemages to another edition of "For Guild & Glory," my brawl report covering all the action from my three accounts: @ducecrypto in Tier 4 with
@shield-of-glory,
@treycrypto in Tier 3 with YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir) and
@shaelien in Tier 3 with the always lively
@the420syndicate. It has been a minute since my last report, nearly 30 cycles ago when Shield of Glory was still in Tier 3 - you can read it here: Cycle #111.
Shield of Glory, the leading guild of the Kingdom of Glory [KoG] alliance, had been dominating Tier 4 as one of the top guilds in Splinterlands, winning 6 cycles in a row coming into #140. W3e spent a whole month finishing first, with DuceCrypto holding it down in Fray 18 - Modern Silver Gold Foil.
This upcoming brawl will be the very first for TreyCrypto with the Yield Guild Games alliance, as I recently joined a strong Tier 3 guild in the Brawler crew - Niðavellir. For those who don't know, the names of the YGG Brawler guilds are from Norse mythology and Niðavellir has something to do with Dwarves... neat! Hopefully, I will be able to make a statement as an anchor Gold Foil player in Fray 16 - Modern Silver Gold Foil.
Last and still blazing strong in Tier 3 is my original guild, The 420 Syndicate, with my recently revived Shaelien account battling up in weight class. The deck sports a gold league Chaos Legion set, but plays in Fray 13 - Modern Diamond.
Shield of Glory finished 2nd out of 9 guilds, good for 183 SPS, 167 crowns and 9,534 merits, but our dominance of Tier 4 came to an end this cycle as Summoner's Tribe (ST) took the top spot. ST is the first and only guild to upgrade its arena to Level 9 for Tier 5, but since it is alone, it continues to be the guild to beat brawling in Tier 4. That didn't faze @nizzyz, who went undefeated 8-0 in his fray, while
@azircon and
@champion-slayer were near-flawless in their Gold Foil gold league frays.
I finished 6-2 for a 75% win rate, and as a whole, the guild was over 66% at 110-53. I lost the one I really wanted though, the battle against @cyberblock of ST, but they ran Yodin in a narrow rule set that I didn't have the answer for... it wasn't that close.
Although TreyCrypto will be debuting with YGG Brawlers (Niðavellir) for the next cycle, in #140 I was still playing both Trey and Shaelien in The 420 Syndicate - boy did I go out with a bang. Trey was one of five brawlers that managed to finish X-1, helping The 420 Syndicate to a 2nd-place finish out of 9 guilds.
Shaelien was also able to grind out a positive record battling up at diamond league. My favorite battle was this one against @ithaka, using triage to preserve my ranged attack with Level 6 Keyla and beating a max Level 6 Ilthain team.
With Shield of Glory finally upgrading its store to Level 8 for Power Stones, I am excited to burn some DEC for the chance to increase the drop rate of Gold Foils in my gladius cases. So far so good with the 5 or so cases I've been able to purchase each brawl cycle. I'll start updating this section with pictures/videos of my Gladius case openings going forward, but for now you'll have to take my work for it that my Gold Foil count is definitely increasing!
In brawl cycle #141, there will be unprecedented amounts of Kingdom of Glory carnage in Tier 4, as we are battling against alliance guilds Guardians of Glory and No Guts No Glory. [KoG] really making a statement in Tier 4! The Guild of Neoxian and YGG Brawlers (Asgard), arguably YGG's strongest guild, are also tough competition this cycle.
I'm a little less familiar with the powerful guilds in Tier 3, but I'm excited about Trey's debut brawling with YGG. Hopefully I come out of the gates strong and support a big first-place finish alongside my new guildmates. And with Shaelien, every win in diamond league with a gold deck feels like an upset win as I continue to support the scrappy @the420syndicate.
