That's the state of things this week. 6 more days until we have to vacate our unit on Aug 31 after 6+ years living here feels surreal. We arrived to Brooklyn during the pandemic and it has been quite the enjoyable journey.
Monday was our first school day of regular schedule, classroom expecting + routine, and some instruction to start feeling out the new students. It is going to be another fun year teaching math in Brooklyn.
This step count tells a different story. A New York story. Parking on my street is weird. You can't do it from 3am to 6am on Tuesday + Friday. So that makes Tuesday from midnight to 3am a GREAT TIME to be able to pull right into a parking spot right in front of my building to be able to load my mom's car which I borrowed to save on the real movers for the heavy stuff. I ran three full loads to and from our new place in those three hours and my stepcount shows it.
It is coming together. I got home from school and made one last run before driving up to Westchester to meet her for dinner before making the subway trek from The Bronx back to BK. Like the Beastie Boys say, "No Sleep Til Brooklyn!" I just managed to stay awake long enough to drag myself home. 30K in the books. Beastmode!
