I thought I would give it a try and I was amazed at how it turned out.
I would start with using some poster board before buying any canvas. Start with a few of the basic colors and try Walmart as they seem to be way cheaper. There are a kinds of neat variations that you incorporate to give really neat effects.
There are many videos demonstrating this form that are available free.
I encourage you to try this out and let me know what you think.
One word of caution is that this needs to be done outside and with a proper mask so as not too breathe the paint fumes.
