Hey there Dtubers!
In this video I’ll give you some tips for cutting back on those jump-cuts! I don’t really have a problem with jump-cuts, they’re an efficient way to keep your video focused and short. But if you don’t like them, or if you would like to use them less, here’s some ways to cover your jump-cuts and keep your video flowing without doing it all in one take.
In case of loading problems the tips are:
#1. Use a “2-camera set-up”
Set up 2 cameras to film at different angles or focal lengths. Sync them in your in your editing software (Premiere can do this automatically if both tracks have audio) If you make a mistake just cut it out and switch to the other camera track when editing.
#2. Use “False 2-camera”
Film in a high resolution like 1080 or 4k, then if you make a mistake just crop in or out to simulate a 2-camera set-up.
#3. Use b-roll to cover your cuts. This can be any secondary footage you have, but it’s best to keep it relevant to the current topic in the video.
