Every vote matters. Basically each SP (e.g. you have 6000 SP) has 30 votes to select 30 witnesses. Both @steem.leo or @theycallmedan have voted 30 witness, your proxy SP will add to their voting power.

Justin Sun's sock puppet witnesses received votes from 15-20 large accounts, on the other hand, top Steem witnesses received votes from more than 150K accounts.

If you are not professional trader, you can't time Steem to sell and buy to make some profit. I would rather power down Steem when it goes above 50 cents and altcoins are in a clear bull run similar to 2017.

I, personally, have invested $45K in Steem and LEO. I have been trading and observing the crypto-market for more than 6 years. This threat is existential threat to Steem chain where I have spent almost three years (@riseofth, my main account).

When you proxy your witness vote, it will not change your voting power to contents.
