The beauty of a cherry bloosom is legendary, with layers of petals bursting forth like a sun. So delicate and graceful, the second wave of cherry trees have arrived.I was asked if they smell like heaven, to get the full effect of the cherry blossom scent, I was told to pour hot water over the flower. The rising steam carries an elegant and sweet aroma,the natural scent of sakura. Sakura is a Japanese word for cherry blossoms.
Today, I noticed a birds nest being built on the lower left hand side of the Cherry Tree.Low enough for me to take note of them and heigh enough to stay out of the way of predators. Sturday and well-build, it looks like it will provide a serene and safe haven for her little ones. It is ready for business. I haven't looked in it to see if there are any eggs, but, I am going to guess there aren't any yet. She just finished fussing over it yesterday.

I know it is only April, but, I don't think it is ever wrong to have a Christmas Tree, do you? It is a tree. They are always cheerful looking and gosh darn it, people are just nicer during that time of year. Is it the tree? The time off? What? What?
The other day, I spooked a Mallard out from under a big evergreen tree when I was planting some flowers. Yesterday, I discovered these duck eggs when I spooked her again. Twelve nice sized eggs which I need to give her almost a month to hatch. I will update you when there is something new going on! I'm a little excited. Thank you for stopping by and reading my post.
