Once upon a time, I lived in a small village in Germany. My neighbor tutored me daily, but, the language she spoke fluently was kindness. I hope to always remember that no matter who I meet and what language is theirs, I will be am able to speak volumes to them, even if I don’t know the words.
Every so often, she crosses my mind...The knowledge imparted on constant rewind...ich hab noch viel zu entdecken dort.
The earth keeps spinning. Life goes on, moving with or without us. I was out on a walkabout today. I am surrounded by the newness of the pines. I inhale deeply and say, "You are amazing. Always and forever remember that." Yes. I talk to the trees. At least I am not a crazy cat lady. Well, not today. Meow.
Everything has a layer of new on it. The trees. The grass. Me.
She Sighs...
Everything is starting to come to life in the neighborhood. It is so warm today, it made many flowering trees pop, but it was the invasive species that lead the way! I would have loved to say that my cherry tree led the way, but it was the Virginia Creeper crawling up the tree.
The tradition in Germany to decorate the branches of trees and bushes with eggs for Easter is centuries old, but its origins have been lost. The egg is an ancient symbol of life all over the world. Eggs are hung on branches of outdoor trees and bushes and on cut branches inside.source
We put an Easter Tree inside and out. We cut branches today to put up a bigger tree in the dining room, where we will have our Easter dinner. Can that possibly overkill with the Easter Trees? Not this year.
And lest I forget, Happy #Caturday!! Miss Kitty in a quick fly-by shot, not enough time to primp herself. I love the different patterns on a calico kitkat.
All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.
The Naming of Cats
The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn’t just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I’m as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.
