Today is #MarketFriday initiated by dswigle@dswigle (Denise, that's me!!) Join me as we share our markets across the globe. I always look forward to seeing what you send me! It is amazing to see the different markets and cultures of our friends here on steemit. Going places, doing things, buying merchandise. I have been surprised by many, not being familiar with the culture and I must say that it has been such an educational experience for me in so many ways and I hope for you also. This week, I am off to the market, the flower market. to find a few things for the harvest table.!

Today I went to my favorite garden center where they have displays set up for upcoming seasonal bliss. I love how rich the colors get. The colors become more visible and splendorous, turning it into a season of beauty.

They have the white pumpkins out, flanked by all those sunflowers and different hued leaves. Everything has a golden glow about it. I need to find something rich-colored and beautiful for my table. I think that the hardest part is picking the color palette. Once I am settled with that I walk about gathering things that will compliment my inspirational motives. I am trying to focus on the centerpiece to build the rest around it. I am sure that I came to the right place!

But first, a flower. Always a flower.

The loveliness of you never escapes me
May I gaze upon you, always and a day?

I like the sunflowers hanging out of the basket, but, I am wondering how long they will last, looking all cheerful and vibrant?

I think I just like the casual look that they have in their decorating and I am sure I can never achieve that same casual flair when I want to do it.

Don't you wish you lived back in the day where they had a mercantile? Real dry goods? One store to get it all? There are days that would be fine to me, take all those extra choices away and get back to basics. That would make life so much simpler, wouldn't it? Everyone could have red pajamas and black shoes. Boom. We are done shopping. I am pretty sure that would be good for about two minutes and then the family would be rioting.

I really like the mirror in the back, very natural looking and I touched it and it was made of bark. Really interesting and I could see that fitting into a corner of my house. My house is terribly eclectic.

They do a really good job of setting up little areas, staging them, so you will know what the finished product would look like. I have been thinking about adding more landscaping to my yard in the form of stone or brick. I have brick, but, I was thinking of mixing it up a little. Their designs are always spectacular! This is the nursery that comes to my house if I have a problem with anything. Okay, not ANYTHING, but, you know what I mean. They bend over backward to please the customer.

Who doesn't want their designer to come over and arrange for you like this? Oh, I do! I do! I just love what she does! I want to buy it all, but, that is totally impractical. Isn't it? I don't need much convincing!

image.png

I love to add different shades of greenery, adding a bit of texture to the entire thing without complicating the look. Although, truth be told, where would I be in life without a little glitz and bling?

And Just like that, this post is over! I hope you have a wonderful #MarketFriday! As for me, the sea is calling and so, I will be gone for a week or three, but, hopefully, will be able to post from the road, perhaps something exotic or at the very least foreign. So, even though I can feel the winds of change banging on the back door, I am still hanging on to the last vestiges of summer here. After all, the sun is still shining and I am still in shorts. So, autumn may have arrived, but, I am running away to find out where my summer went to. Thank you for taking the time to read!

It is always interesting to see the different markets around the globe! C’mon! Show me your market shots! I eagerly await them!

I love to share and be shared with! I am intrigued by different cultures. It is exciting and yes! I would love to see you! Don't forget to take photos wherever you happen to be shopping - whether it be the grocery store, the local marketplace or even an art gallery, a kite festival! Wherever money is exchanged for a service or for merchandise. Be different if you wish! It does not have to be a traditional market! We will love it! I promise you! Thank you for visiting my post 💖 Because of you, I come back to post again and again, I am encouraged by you, for the time you take to visit, comment or even upvote. For all of these reasons, I am eternally grateful. Don't ever forget what a wonderful world we live in, people. Let's hold hands around the globe and make this earth really spin. Some days, it is not as easy to see, how wonderful it really is. Kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"
