What a game. History made for sure.
I actually didn't get to try Diablo until the Playstation version, but I played Diablo II, and Lord of Destruction until my eyes bled.
I know that the original was a landmark release, but Diablo II took that even further.
And Battle.net was like my second home, I lived there for years playing Diablo II and Warcraft 3. Battle.net itself was a huge accomplishment, and was one of the only free gaming networks. It was so awesome being able to interact with people who were playing other Blizzard games too. Even the original Diablo and Warcraft 2 got Battle.net support for the Battle Chest releases.
I never did get into Starcraft which I think was the first Battle.net game. I tried to play Starcraft 2, but I was late to the game and everyone was already too good.
Diablo 3 drew me back into PC gaming, and I played it heavily for a while. It was an awesome looking game, and it was pretty fun at first but there was just something missing.
The story and cinematics were like a Disney film. Nowhere near as dark and ominous as the first 2 games.
And oh, how far Blizzard has fallen from glory. They are all about the money now, and clearly don't understand the people that bought their games.
When they tried to hype that Diablo mobile release people were livid. They were like "don't you guys own phones?"
I'll be interested to see how Diablo 4 turns out.
