Haha. I've never tried that plug-in, but I've known a lot of people who swear by Blender for video editing too.
I mostly use Kdenlive which has seen A LOT of active development this past year, and for smaller stuff Flowblade which is a much smaller project with one main developer who does great work.
I'm actually already following @DigginDeeper.com on here. I think I joined that one when I first moved here last month or so from Steemit.com.
I checked out Open Source Ecology as well, and that's really awesome stuff. With the things we're seeing happen lately in the world and our country, I think we're going to need to see a return to community-based agriculture and homesteading. Not only for survival, but also as a more sane economic system. This is something I want to spend more time learning too. I'm more comfortable with engines and computers, but food is most important.
Also the former US model of micro-economics dating all the way back to the settlers was a big part of what made the States and the Union successful IMO.
The open-source part is going to be important because we have lots of people with technical skills, but not necessarily the homesteading, agrarian, and farming skills. But with open-source, the internet, and modern micro-production, and some decent common sense, technology we could see people adapt/re-tool at record speeds.
