So Audacity is the "go-to" open-source audio suite, and it definitely has more features than OcenAudio. But I prefer OcenAudio for the basic things I'm doing with it, and I think the graphical interface is MUCH better than Audacity's.
However, recently a company purchased Audacity and has packaged it with spyware which has led to a big battle in the community and a new "clean" fork of it called Tenacity. But I recently read that the maintainer quit because of 4Chan trolls so who knows now.

About OpenShot. When I started working with video on Linux OpenShot was actually my first choice because I prefer GTK+/Gnome applications(and I dislike KDE), but it never worked well for me.
Since then many new releases have come out, and I've tried to do videos on each one but, it always crashes or has terrible performance or other random bugs.
I don't understand it because I hear from lots of people how much they love it so it must run okay for them.
I'm running a Intel Xeon with tons of RAM so the performance issues make no sense.
