If the regulations are dropped off do you mean people are wearing them voluntarily? Or maybe you mean companies are making people due to policy?
And the vaccines for CERTAIN are high profit makers. The masks are too I'm sure, but I think of the masks as more of a way to "signal" your position on the issue.

For instance, in the USA many of the people who are still CHOOSING to wear the masks belong to the left-side of the political divide, and they want people to know that.
There are other people who have genuine fear and continue to wear them too though.
Oddly, the ONLY place I've had to wear a mask in the past year was my doctors office.
