Amazing analysis and explanation. I learned more in those few paragraphs than from most of the media I've seen on the matter. I do remember the accusations against Maduro's regime of crimes against humanity. It's just interesting how the government chooses to punish some states of crimes like these but looks the other way for many others.

And the part about the government wanting to impoverish people and make them dependent is literally socialism encapsulated. In the the US we are seeing movement towards the same goal, and unfortunately for a lot of people it is working. Many people outright reject it, and are still vigilant for the creeping of Communism.
Politicians are always pointing fingers, and often doing nothing but enriching their donors and corporate interests. In the US politics is just team sports, and both sides are usually working against the people.

Regarding the coup I mentioned. Coup is probably not the proper word. But I saw the Maduro regime had apprehended a unit of men that they claimed were attempting a coup or espionage. It didn't get a lot of attention, but I saw some sources online mention it.

In the past two years I think we've seen more governments around the world act much more authoritarian with the pandemic as the excuse. I believe a lot of it is about expanding government control, and destroying independent businesses. With the pandemic there has been a polarizing of the populace where people have either put all of their faith in the competence of the government or outright reject the over-reach.

Either way, thank you for the lesson. I would bet you are a good teacher, and we need way more of those.
