I like your analogy of yes and.
I watch a lot of comedian podcasters, and the "yes and" rule is one I'm very familiar with.
I think you're referring to the proposals dynamic of the chain, and I honestly don't know much about how it works.
I've always assumed that it's tied to developers who want to write an application or protocol that integrates with the chain via API, but I honestly don't know that for a fact. I also didn't realize people were so critical of each other about those proposals though. I've not witnessed much of that.
I know I'm asked to vote on proposals, and I'll read them and vote on them from time to time. But I'm never really certain what their purpose or motivation is.
I don't even know how they come to fruition.
I've been here since Steemit.
In fact, what brought me here was The Dark Overlord days. They had hacked "9/11 Conspiracy Documents", and were trying to ransom them on Steemit.
I don't even remember the story that well now, and had to do a search to remember the point lol.
But my main thing is a make videos about Linux/tech stuff.
I publish here, and I also blog here and get to do writing that I can't do anywhere else.
One thing I loved about this site was I needed a place to publish a written guide to accompany one of my videos. I published it here, and as a PDF on Odysee/LBRY.
I always feel like on this platform, and on Minds or other decentralized platforms that we're all just thrown together without coordinated interests.
I know there are groups here, but I feel like they are kind of passive.
The last site where I felt like I had a real community of people who were interested in the same things as me was Google+, and naturally Google killed it because it was awesome.
I will often try to encourage others on here, but I don't know my role or how i'm supposed to fit into anything or collaborate.
But I find that hard to do anywhere really.
I'm just not that great at making connections online maybe.
Also, when I do engage with people in say live-chats I end up feeling like I've wasted hours that I could have been doing something that really matters.
When I post my content here and it gets a lot of upvotes I often wonder if it was actually watched or read. If I ask a question I feel like I rarely get people responding to it, but the ones that do are appreciated.
I don't know, just my thoughts.
