The reasons why I like Block. One are probably the same reasons other people hate it - and therefore go into FUD overdrive about EOS.
The first reason is that it takes the Dan Larimer thing about being better - and by being so slowly making regular competitors (and by that I mean old-school corporations) redundant, seriously.
He was talking about EOS, and how DApps will eventually become successful. But I see it in how Block. One is positioning itself in the corporate world as a player: world-class CEO and CFO, not to mention Dan himself as CTO. Block. One is making decisions in order to be seen as a "safe pair of hands" by the business community. They want Block. One to be a player in the corporate tech world.
This is demonstrated too through Brendan Blumer taking a leadership role for blockchain in general. For example:
The second reason is that they put their money where their mouth is: they have (already) invested (or committed to investing) US$1 Billion in VC firms for reinvestment in EOS-based startups.
This is insanely massive and there is always the promise of more to come (the Block. One warchest is massive).
The third is their commitment to education - for example, working with Virginia Tech University to build a blockchain curriculum which can be taught at universities throughout the world.
While other "leaders" in the blockchain space are busy talking to the converted and squabbling over the market share of crypto as already established, Block. One is playing to the 'real world' of business and corporations and trying to grow the cake of investment.
I look forward to its great success in its endeavours.

May all beings be happy.
