You're on the right track because your thinking is in line with the reality of the situation. Now just get out of that stuck feeling, empower yourself and continue your planning in earnest, and look to network with good people nearby. Surviving in the bush may be necessary but most of us should not be making that our plan A. If it really comes down to that, there will be other people in the same boat, and as long as you have some basic gear and a little big of practice (like hiking, camping, fishing) then you will survive. Confidence is one of the biggest aspects so keep building yourself up as you gain the tools to do this. And always remember that until just 100 years ago, our ancestors (many of them here in Canada) were living essentially off the grid, without power, without communication. What did they have? Community, skills, knowledge, and mental stamina. Focus on those things and you will be ready for just about anything that could be coming our way. If you're right in town, consider an evacuation plan just in case, and have a good bug out bag (packed and ready, not just planned). Look into what happened in other countries when this happened there, like Chile, Venezuela, many parts of Europe in the past 100 years. Many people who lived through it wrote books, manuals, even did vlogs about it to help others in the future. We can learn from that. And consider getting your funds out of paper/digital assets (other than perhaps some crypto if you are so inclined). The banks are not safe anymore. Cash and precious metals (in a safe or good hiding places) are much safer right now. You're not stuck, you're just up against a steep learning curve. Don't panic, because once you panic, things are probably going to get a lot worse. And don't burn yourself out! : ) Take it on at a pace you can handle and just keep getting it done. If nothing else, you'll learn lots, make some good connections, and be prepared for a world in flux. Lean on people who have been researching these topics for a long time and have a good grasp of what's happening. And keep yourself as healthy and happy as possible through this! <3
