Hodl only works if the overall crypto market succeeds. But even then, it doesn't work for everybody doing it. I have been doing that for 5+ years and I'm WAAAAAY down on my cryptos. Many cryptos are inflationary, and therefore not a good idea to invest in and hold, like HIVE. The only strategy with HIVE is to earn it and immediately sell it for something else, which is what everybody is doing, and it's why the price will always do nothing but fall. It can drop 99% every year, forever, and never actually hit zero, because there can be as many decimal places as necessary. But hodl will work for many people, once the crypto world really takes off and becomes widely used. When will that be? How will CBDCs affect things? Will crypo ever be private and decentralized, as it was supposed to be? We will have to wait to find out.
