I think we have to be happy and secure in ourselves, and love ourselves, before we will have any chance being happy and secure with someone else, or loving someone else. Most people put effort into making somebody else like them... when they should be putting effort into themselves. When people see a happy and healthy person, they are much more likely to want to get involved, and the relationship will be built on something other than trying to help the other person. As you noted, that's not really the best kind of long term relationship.

Anyway I think you're a cool guy! If this girl is interested in you, then you will know it. Most people give off signals of some kind! If she's being more than just friendly (as she would with other customers) then you will probably pick up on that :)
