Hey, some good advice, and good questions. If you like video format and have half an hour sometime, I summarized my 10 year crypto journey here:
But I realize nobody has 30 minutes for that kind of thing. In short, I've been advocating crypto since before most people heard of it, and I'm the most successful long term price forecaster, but I myself do not invest (buy and sell things to profit from price changes). I believe in savings (real money like PMs), and of course we need currency in modern life, so that's why I was interested in crypto. But crypto hasn't become the privacy and decentralization gamechanger it was supposed to. Long ago I took a stance against wifi and smart devices, and have never used them. Sadly, crypto has moved almost exclusively to smart devices and it's becoming harder and harder to use on an actual computer.
As for this blockchain, all Steem, SBD, HBD, and tokens on steemengine and hiveengine have been converted to Hive Power, to boost myself and the platform. For years that has been the strategy encouraged by the community... and it's the same strategy your post is encouraging. But like I said above, the best strategy was actually the opposite. Never power up, never hold anything on this blockchain (not even the tokens, which are derivatives of Hive). By design it's all going to zero, so holding it is suicidal. I'm not an investor, but that doesn't mean I want my savings to disappear to nothing! I prefer holding things that will retain their purchasing power whenever possible. Hive doesn't fit the bill! But like I said, I have very few options without a smart device or bank account. I keep waiting for crypto to develop, and be private and decentralized, but it's not happening. Instead, the focus is on investing - making profits off each other while enriching the banks and exchanges. It's ridiculous.
Sorry to be a downer, but that's how I see it. If I'm wrong on anything please let me know!
