Yes, true! Although I sometimes wonder if they simply don't exist, and I'm imagining something and making up reasons why there's no evidence to support its existence :O
But I know I've contemplated starting something like this myself. I have a community of followers, some of whom got quite rich off Bitcoin or precious metals. Many think like I do. But I myself have no fiat to contribute, and would feel strange starting up a community in which everybody except myself contributed fiat. So I've never seriously considered doing it. Maybe others, who do have a bit of currency, are out there and doing this? I've heard rumours! But indeed, people who have a good thing going are sometimes reluctant to broadcast it, and I'm sure I'd be the same. For years, I've felt vulnerable and a strong desire to change my situation so I can be near others who value Liberty. Now it's late in the game, and I'm no closer to making it happen. Meanwhile people who were clueless (or making fun of me) the last 15 years, and didn't prepare, suddenly have the idea to buy remote properties and get off the grid, driving the price up even further out of my reach.
So here I am, literally trying to grow food under a 24/7 ultra bright 5G street lamp.
RE: If I were a person looking for an off-grid European eco community, where would I look?
