But yeah, we don't have many options currently, regarding hoping to save for a house. We were homeless for a couple years until 3 years ago when we landed an apartment in Vancouver's hot rental scene, and began to stabilize our health issues. We then got surprise pregnant (after 10 years together) - she wasn't supposed to be able to conceive due to all the spinal cancers and radiation she got as a child. But cannabis healed her and along came Brett, who is very healthy and happy.. but upended our lifestyle of activism in downtown Vancouver! We're in a little town, renting a little house. She gets disability support, which is enough to cover the rent and bills. I hope to grind my way up to being able to earn a small income online with my photography, videos, writing, and so on. I've been trying here for 4 years, and just in the last couple months routinely get posts in the $3 to $30 range, which is amazing. If I can get that up higher, and then also find a way to get those funds into a form I can spend on groceries, that would be a dream come true. Currently, the only way I can afford an ounce of silver, is if I skip dinner for a few weeks. So the plan of stacking enough to convert into a farm is certainly a longshot. The end of this year might be a little too early for me, unless silver goes above 2500 per ounce, then I'll have enough for something (if the price of land doesn't also go up).
Crypto, which I only started actively using in 2017 (despite advocating it since 2011 to my followers), might actually be more likely to do something for me. As I posted the other night, I'm up to 14000 in crypto net worth. I have no connection between the crypto and real world, so that has all been gained through payouts, tips, and trades. I've never "bought" crypto (with fiat). But I'm earning it at a decent pace right now. Maybe that 14k will be 140k by the end of the year, partly through nominal gains, and mainly through crypto bull market inflation? But then, how to turn that into land? I am unbanked, and will never use a smart device, so my options are severely limited. I have to hope that opportunities open up that are within my reach. I keep trying to envision it and look for others with a similar goal.
