If that's true, I guess Russia and Putin are going to look very foolish and weak when that happens, as he has promised beyond a shadow of a doubt that he will defend Iran from the USA, no matter what. That's something we haven't seen in a very long time. For years now, Russia and Putin have played geopolitics nearly flawlessly. So much so that I see activists and other commentators in the USA realizing that Russia has more freedom (politically and economically) than America does nowadays, many of them lamenting that Putin isn't leader of the USA. If you're right, Putin is about to look really dumb for the first time in ages.
