So many good and peaceful people being put in prison up here in Canada right now, to protect the profits of these legalized corporations and insiders. Friends of mine, some of the best people I've ever met, are considered enemies of the state, traitors, criminals... because these licensed producers have to protect their bottom line. Instead of ending prohibition of cannabis, they legalized it, meaning control, manipulate, tax, monopolize. And of course, destroy the free market and peaceful cannabis culture, the mom-n-pops growers and bakers and extractors and trimmers, the taxpaying dispensaries which are being raided and replaced by sterile government shops with irradiated chemmy weed at 3 times the price in the free "black" market.
All this talk about "exciting times" and "get in on the ground floor" and "sky is the limit" makes me want to puke, with thousands of innocent peaceful people going to prison, families ruined forever, tax resources squandered, and respect for the rule of law destroyed. Bad laws are broken by good people until the bad laws are changed. We've been doing civil disobedience of unjust cannabis laws here in Canada for decades. "Legalization" is destroying lives as we speak. There were dozens of violent police raids across Canada today (July 31st). All to arrest peaceful growers and merchants, and even sometimes the customers (who are often patients that have NO OTHER SOURCE of medicine). All they got was some bud, oils, and edibles. Meanwhile, thousands are DYING of fentanyl and other opiates, many of them pharmaceuticals, which the drug companies are rich off. I've stepped over people dying on the sidewalks of Vancouver, literally. Opiates kill, cannabis heals and has never killed anyone. The war on cannabis is a war for profits.
People are literally suffering and dying right now in Canada because of legalization. And the insiders are talking about how it will be the first trillion dollar cash crop. Puke.
