I've been considering trading a bunch of my cards straight across for some crypto tokens, posting a list with prices. But as the weeks have gone by, I'm seeing the price of these cards continue to steadily climb, while crypto has more-or-less gone sideways. Furthermore, I expect crypto will have a major pullback (and bear market) at some point later this year. But I expect that the prices of these vintage out-of-print cards will just keep moving upward. The reasons they're rising aren't going away. One reason is people have more time on their hands now that they are working from home more (or not working as much, or not working at all). We are getting back into hobbies like never before, according to articles like this.

Another reason prices continue to inflate is people have money from stimulus checks and other lockdown measures. A glut of funds is looking for somewhere to go, because the central banks are printing currency out of thin air. Many markets are inflating, including things like NFTs, which by definition have no physical form. The EMF has said by 2030 we will own nothing and be happy about it. I think owning physical items (over digital items) has advantages. Real books, for example, have something that a digital text file doesn't. Maybe there will still be collectible card games in 2030? I tend to think so, and apparently I'm not alone.
As for my cards, I think I'm going to hang on to them for now. Instead of using this space to try to trade them for crypto, I'll use it to keep my card list updated. Eventually, once I've sorted and set aside everything I intend to part with, I'll decide what I want to exchange it for. As demand continues to surge, and no further printings can take place, these items are only going up in price.
