Yes, assuming the catch basin is clean and not full of dirt or algae. ACs and dehumidifiers work in basically the same way, and pure water is the byproduct.

One way to get distilled water is to condense some steam and collect it. Another way is to use the water created by an air conditioner. That's pure H20 and should be exactly 7.0 on a pH meter if my college
