This track took me about three days to produce and is the first time I've tried to hybridize samples and the modular synth. I grew way too attached to my triplet delay guitar samples (despite them sounding decided Sega Genesis-y) and generously layered them in with the dual Tiptop Dixie oscillators driving the stereo leads into the Mutable Instruments Clouds. Cwejman again on the bass which is being run through an Earthquaker Devices Hoof for some grit and verb'd gently on the Make Noise Erbeverb. I played some acoustic drums over this and it lost all of its slick 80s vibe, so the Oberheim DMX (my absolute favorite drum machine, forever) ended up going the distance. Paging through Dsound after the fact, I'm realizing I need to master -vastly- more aggressively for the platform, so turn this one up!
Here's where the modular ended up for this patch. Note the Hoof, doing work, as always.
In the clutch of silence
The precipice of fear
With the dim reminder
A future draws near
Communicate the message
A new day has dawned
Compensate the masses
Empower them in song
We’re powering, steem powering
Devouring
We are powering up
We’re tiring, perspiring
So tiring
It’s still worth powering up
Acquiring, requiring
Aspiring
So we are powering up
Inspiring, inquiring
So inspiring
As we're are powering up
