With a new series of ambient compositions debuting next week on DSound, I thought it appropriate to revist one of my favorite drone-y modular soundscape, "Thrum" from my Modular Across American II Series and get back in the swing of things. It is celestially evocative thanks to a deep single sine oscillator (the beloved timbres of my Mannequins Mangrove) ... tbe proverbial thrum the patch spawned from. I've been in the trenches in the studio working on other artist's records for a few months now and am absolutely brimming to explore sound for it's own sake without deadlines or expectations. It's been hyper-productive, but the allure of setting up a patch and letting some degree of random intervention take the wheel has never been so appealing.
