Today, I ma here to present the Contest participation post in the Week 8 and Edition 1 of the Hive Learners community. The topic of discussion for today is Pollution. So, let's start the task without any wastage of time.
Pollution
We can define pollution as the change of the composition of the environmental factors. It is actually the modification of the pure state of environment into the impure form and it is very common in our country, in fact, especially all the countries of Asia.
Pollution is very dangerous for human, as well as, the life of the animals especially the aquatic life. There are many types of pollution that can be discussed below along with the causes and effects of them on the human as well as other lives.
- Water Pollution:
The change in the composition of the water present in the water bodies like lakes, ponds, rivers, oceans, etc is called as the water pollution. Addition of other impurities in these water bodies is actually the water pollution.
Water pollution may causes by various factors like the deposition of the industrial effluents directly in the water bodies, disposal of domestic wastes in the water reservious, addition of acidic rain and other metals in the water of the water bodies.
Water pollution has very serious effects on the aquetic life and most of the aquetic animals including fish die due to the accumulation of metals in them. It also effect the water plants.
- Air Pollution:
The change in the composition of the air is called as the air pollution. Air pollution is actually the addition if different impurities in the air. This addition is known as air pollution.
Air pollution may be causes by various factors like the global warming, greenhouse effects, volcanic errosion, bomb brusting at various sites, addition of various free radicals like Chlorine radical in the atmosphere. The smoke arises from the industries and the vehicles is also a very big source of the air pollution.
Air pollution have many harmful effects on the human health like the defect if lungs and respiratory system, stress and other anxiety factors, it nay damage various body parts like eyes, brain, etc.
- Land Pollution:
The change in the composition of the soil and actually the earth is known as the Land Pollution. The addition of various pollutants and the wastage of the pure and agricultural land is actually termed as the Land Pollution.
There are various causes of the Land Pollution including the disposal of untreated industrial wastes in the land, excessive uses of pesticides and other sprays, acid rain, increase in the disposal of domestic wates directly in the soil, landfills, etc.
The land pollution may effect the human health as well as the other organism in various ways like it may cause the change of agricultural land intro barrel land, seeping, decrease in the available land for cultivation, etc.
How can we reduce Pollution?
By the disposal of industrial effluents after proper treating.
We should adopt public transport instead of the personal vehicles.
We should reduce the use of pesticides and other chemicals in the land.
We should refuce the use of products that are made up of CFCs and other dangerous chemicals.
We should develop the industries in the spare areas, away from the residental areas.
