Yesterday I woke up early. I recently found a lake that up until recently used to be a gravel quarry that looked to have some pike in it. Only problem? A LOT of vegetation. So I grabbed my trustworthy rod and reel and some top water frogs and went in to check it out. The sunrise was beautiful.
Half an hour later, after a few pike strikes that came too short, I landed the first one. Not the biggest in the world, but it put up a good fight. Here she is, right before a hard earned release:
