Definitely not easy work, cut the grass (in this area they usually do it manually), then let it dry but take care of it, turn it, spread it, and then gather it in suspended piles on a stake/vertical piece of wood, and let it dry some more.
If the hay is far from its home, load it onto something and carry it to its resting place. In this case, the horsie has to do its part by pulling the cart until it's time to have some "me time". 馃槍
