You, the one who stands before my mirror,
Staring at me with a satin red smile,
With eyes as dark as a moonless night.
A gaze so piecing, that it haunts me while I sleep,
And a grin so vile, that it keeps me awake at night.

A familiar unfamiliarity descends over me as I see you,
There is a name to your face, a name I know so well yet never uttered aloud.
A known stranger;
A friend who I refuse to recognise.

Who are you?
A mirror reflection appearing in my mirror of madness.
A shadow on the glass floor I walk on.
But glasses never reflect shadows;
Glasses only reflect faces.

Why are you here?
Why are you not here?
Questions upon questions pill up my throat until I choke with their weight.
It seems that I can't escape you,
Or is it you who can't escape me?

Reality shatters as you emerge in ever reflecting surface,
And I'm left wondering,
If it's you who is stuck with me;
A made-up delusion of my dysfunctional brain.
A vision so vivid that it seems real at times.

Or is it me,
Who is a mirage in your reality;
A visual, a misconstruction,
Just a shadow, a reflection,
Who stands before your mirror,
Every single day.
