I turn pretty childish when I have a fever. It's not something that is very common in my life, but this year seems to beg to differ, as it is now the third time I'm under it, dealing with the pain it brings.
With 102 celcius showing on the thermometer, I am counting away the seconds until it passes. Every time I close my eyes, I can feel an eternal wind surround me, moving through me with its never-ending noise. It's probably a hallucination on my part, but for some reason, the sound scares me, making me feel small and out of breath. As a result, I can't close my eyes properly, and sleep seems like a hundred miles away.
I turn childish when I go through a fever.
The sensation of it pushes me back to I was eleven every single time, and I cannot help but feel lonely and scared, because even at that young age, I had to battle through my fevers alone, with not a soul, not even my mother, sitting on my bedside to pamper me.
This sudden depth of loneliness always brings tears to my eyes, and I find myself crying over small unnecessary things like why is the light in my room on and why is my hair a mess...
It's not a very proud moment for me, as I always end up feeling stupid after it passes. But it is there anyway, and I have to deal with it every single time...
