Hello rally fans :)!
Today I decided to write about Toyotaâs manufacturersâ win in Rally Japan!
This season, Toyotaâs GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid was a powerhouse on every surface. From icy roads to gravel stages, the carâs reliability and performance made it a key factor in their success. But it wasnât just the car; Toyotaâs drivers; Kalle RovanperĂ€, Elfyn Evans, SĂ©bastien Ogier, and Takamoto Katsuta, delivered consistent and spectacular performances throughout the year. Their teamwork and commitment were the backbone of the teamâs dominance :D!
Toyota Gazoo Racing secured the 2024 WRC Manufacturersâ Championship in a dramatic final round at Rally Japan, triumphing over Hyundai in an intense showdown. Toyota concluded the season with 561 points, narrowly beating Hyundaiâs 558 points after Hyundaiâs hopes were dashed by Ott TĂ€nakâs crash on Saturday. My M-Sport ended the season with only 295 points ://.
Toyotaâs victory on home soil was particularly symbolic. Rally Japan provided a challenging finale, featuring technical stages that left little space for any mistakes.
This championship win isnât just about one rally or even one seasonâitâs a culmination of years of development, strategic decisions, and an unwavering focus on excellence. Toyota Gazoo Racing has set a benchmark for what a modern WRC team should be, balancing innovation with tradition and consistently delivering under pressure.
I enjoyed Rally Japan very much but the cherry on top was seeing the home crowd cheer for their drivers (Katsuta, Kogure, Yakamoto, Arai, and the rest) as they contributed to this historic win, a proud moment for Japanese motorsport fans :)!
