re running around but somehow don't actually leave the house—just errands and regular home stuff dragging on way longer than they should. I didn't get to sleep on time yesterday and kept telling myself I'd crash in the afternoon when things calmed down, but of course other plans had other ideas. Spent a good chunk of time commenting on waves and catching up on some unfinished business elsewhere.
Anyway, I finally managed to finish a digital piece I've been tinkering with. It got inspired by a contest I saw over in the draw a day community, specifically from this guy

Truth be told, I wasn't really hell-bent on following the actual contest rules since I wanted this to lean more towards an ornamental piece. Or better yet, let's just say I straight up didn't bother reading the full rules this time—pretty bad of me, I know 😂. Here's the contest link anyway.

For my take, I decided to merge the instrument with a water-based organism. I had this ambitious idea to animate it using ibis paint's animation features, but man, that turned out way more stressful than I expected. Hit a wall at some point and just gave up on that part. But honestly, the silver lining was getting to experiment with the airbrush set on overlay mode. I usually just slap an overlay layer over the whole panel, but this time I wanted to see what happens when you actually blend the brushes directly instead of covering everything with a flat layer. Way more satisfying, if you ask me.
When I finally wrapped it up, I couldn't stop smiling at the result. Still, I got stuck debating whether to share it today or save it for later. Obviously I decided to just go for it and post it here. I uploaded the full timelapse (with the interface visible) on YouTube for anyone curious, but for short summary, here's the gif version without the windows.
