I can't stop obsessing about this lately. And I'm all about finding my own solutions. I don't ascribe to the world where we take pills for all our ills. I'm focused on a holistic approach and being responsible for our actions and our treatments and our journey.
I've just been diagnosed with CCUS.
It's a rare condition where impulses override reason and you find yourself at maximum stress levels, adrenaline pouring through your body making your heart race and your blood pressure soar after you glance at your remaining Hive voting power.
That's right.
CCUS stands Chronic Compulsive Upvote Sydrome.
I mean - a great post, sure! Upvote it. But then - you comment, and the writer replies with such a heart-felt connection. and there is that little button. tempting. luring. "come on, you know that deserves your upvote. you know you want to financially appreciate it. just do it. Your VP is only at 54%, what's one more vote?"
Cracking up as I write this but I'm so serious. I pause my autovote - but what does that matter??? I manually upvote WAY more than my autovote. And I cannot. stop. upvoting. gahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
So I was thinking. lol
Does anyone else TRULY have a problem with this? Or is just me?
And if lots of people have a problem with it... hahahaha Is there a way to solve it?
Would it be beneficial to like... have a recharge package that we could pay for? Cuz I would TOTALLY BE ON THAT MESS LIKE WHITE ON RICE.
Wouldn't that be something that would help HIVE? Something that we could purchase WITH HIVE, something consumable, something that could go directly into the distributed rewards for the day?
Because I know some people would say NO. You're not taking more rewards from the rewards pool just so you can go on an upvote spree.

Here is how it could benefit EVERYONE and make a win/win/win/win.
(cuz you know it has to be 4 wins for me to get behind it hahaha)
at 100% recharge, accounting for delegations- I think I currently have a 13 cent vote.
So... If I charge from 51% (yes, yes, I really am there and I really am embarrassed about that hahahahaha) to 100%. That basically allows me to give out 25, 100% upvotes at 13 cents before I would be drained back to 51% at 6 cents. (approximately) And this is not taking into account the time that it would recharge - let's just assume that I gave those 25 votes immediately to have the maximum negative impact on the rewards pool.
But - what if I was willing to cover the cost of that impact on the rewards pool?
Looking at how much those 25 votes would cost... it LOOKS like it would be about $2.31 with the current market value.
And that would mean it would cost about 5 HIVE.
(these are approximate numbers! so please don't focus on the specifics unless i'm WAY off hahahaha) I'm asking really.... if I am willing to cover the cost of the 5 HIVE that would be taken from the rewards pool, in order to re-distribute it the way that I choose. If I'm willing to pay to boost my VP back up to 100%, and it doesn't hurt the pool - but benefits those who are getting my upvotes. If we have now created another opportunity for people to purchase HIVE and given it a valuable use.
Or... are there just not enough people who would care to pay to increase their voting power that much. They are just willing to wait the time out.
