About six months ago I started a new business venture..

Actually, let me back up.

About eight months ago I mentioned to hubs that a friend of mine was doing pretty well with a side hustle that she affectionately called the rehoming of gently used clothing.

Basically she was picking up deals from places like goodwill, church rummage sales and yard sales then removing stains, mending loose buttons etc, after which she put them up on places like eBay and Poshmark.

The entrepreneur mind of Howie was instantly intrigued. Next thing I knew he was sending me videos on how to get started and creating a logo.

This logo.

The thing about my hubs is he likes to try on all manner of ideas. Generally he goes all gangbusters for about a month, at the end of which he either scraps the whole plan or develops it further- and most of the time it's the former.

Which is not a criticism, because when he chooses to focus on something he doesn't do it half-assed. If he finds a passion for it, whether it be the challenge or just a premise he truly enjoys, he will turn it into something magnificent.

Well, at the end of the first month of this particular venture he stumbled into another one involving comic books, and his interest in clothing waned.

Because we had begun it together, it didn't initially occur to me that I could do it myself.
I know, I know, that's very damsel of me.
But I found myself looking at the corner he had set up with a wooden table and professional lighting and thinking Why not?

So, for the first time, other than my writing ventures, I went solo on a business, and I have a new appreciation for the work it takes to make it successful.

I wouldn't go as far as calling it that yet, but I have been learning a lot through trial and error and research, and I've been making a decent amount of sales as I build up my closets.

The pics I chose for this post are recent acquisitions, out of which I have already sold these last three for ten times what I spent, which is about my average I have to say. Monetarily speaking, not including the work that goes into it of course.

The one below was just shipped...

....but here are the reviews for the other two :0)

So far I have a perfect five star rating on every platform I use! Of course there are people who don't review at all, so maybe not every individual is as psyched as these two. But I like to think they are at least satisfied if they're not complaining!

For the month of August I'm giving the above promo a try in order to move some of the older inventory.

Next step, making a bigger presence on Instagram- wish me luck!
