Unless we count the Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables, I haven't seen an opera. Definitely both of those venues weren't nearly as fancy as ones I've seen videos of. And I am interested in going, but it's true that the shallow, materialistic culture surrounding it turns me off and is largely the reason I've never been. But at some point in this life I definitely will!
