My brother has a great many songs with brilliant lyrics, but there are a few that particularly resonate over the past year or so, and this one, Before It's Too Late, was not only awesome end to his set as he opened for The Blue Oyster Cult, it was absolutely fitting for this period in time.
I feel like we were all taking those words to heart on this day. It couldn't have been a more beautiful day as well, like the divine was blessing it, showing favor to the creative.
Excuse my terrible humming, haha, I was on my third wine slushy by this point. There's something about an afternoon buzz in the sun at a concert, a feeling not easily captured in other settings.
I would say that lady agrees with my statement- she never stopped dancing from start to finish. Just enjoying her own little happy, buzzy world.
And speaking of songs that resonate- I only caught a piece of this one, bit most people would swear he must have wrote it during covid about our current situation.
He didn't, this was written a few years ago for a friend who was going through a terrible time. Poor guy wrote a children song that was basically about not judging, being kind, to each their own- and was met with a stream of hate mail and comments that now almost seem like foreshadowing of the social media hatred craze of vitriol to come.
Speaking of which, I've mentioned how I had been struggling with a funk, and so much of the reason was watching how people have been treating each other. Now I understand though, that while I can't do much about others behavior I have complete control over mine.
Hopefully in the not so distant future many more will be Ready. To spread joy and kindness and cheer again.
