We all love the idea of being in control. From the idea of being in control of your own life, to controlling your own fate, to controlling what you do, etc. Everyone loves control, its just that some people take it too far... And since slave-trade is no longer socially acceptable, why not withhold information that would free them... they can be free, but they should not know it...
